.

Through my experience of learning and being able to use four different languages, namely Spanish, English, Zulu and Xhosa, I have learned that there are things that make learning a language much easier. I recently used those methods to learn Spanish for just five months.

Also, as a private teacher of the language, I have seen many of my students get stuck in learning English in the wrong way of how to learn what they are trying to do. That is why I have decided to write this article as a guide for my English students but also to share with society in general.

It is an undeniable fact that before learning anything, including learning a language, it is important to know how to learn the relevant thing, so that you can learn it effectively and easily.

However, understand that when I say learning easily, I do not mean that your learning will not be difficult.

Some things in the language will be difficult, however with the right method and with sincere effort, your learning process will be easier than without having a method and understanding of the right way to learn.

This is the first part of this article.

The following are the elements of those methods of learning the language, especially the English language.

1. Determine to be able to:

Do not start or continue learning English without confidence and determination to become fluent. It is not enough to just wish to be able to speak English, you need the power of determination from the heart, and to believe that you can.

2. Setting a specific time to reach a certain level:

It is not enough to be determined to be able to speak the English language. You need to set goals and strategies to achieve that goal and to achieve a certain goal within a specific time.

The best way to set time for yourself is to divide your goal of mastering the language into small components and then you set goals to achieve those small components within a certain time.

First understand the big picture of everything you need to learn, then ask yourself which of them you already know or perhaps you have an 'idea' about.

So set goals for each element according to your ability to understand.

For example, once you know all the elements of TENSES, ask yourself how long you will be able to complete the tenses. The same goes for other elements.

Identifying the different parts that make up a sentence:

Everything you write, speak, hear or read is a SENTENCE. In sentences you write, read, listen or speak words. However, to make it easier for people to learn the language, the words are divided into groups, and those groups define the usage and rules for each word in the relevant group.

Example this sentence: Will you come to school? - Will you come to school?

Here we have five words, and they come from the following groups:

Verbs: Will and Come

Pronoun: You

Proposition: TO

Noun: School

Knowing the rules that increase these groups will help you know why the words are arranged as they are, for example why it was not COME WILL TO SCHOOL YOU?

In learning these rules, you will distinguish yourself from those who think learning a language is knowing a lot of words.

There are many people who know a lot of English words and are quick to mix Swahili and English during conversation, but when it comes to adding only English in a row, it becomes difficult because they do not have the skills to create sentences well.

3. Reading in order:

After realizing that the language has several elements that make up sentences and principles that guide all kinds of words, without forgetting the times - tenses, make a plan to study step by step because many elements are compatible.

For example, if you don't understand tenses well, it will give you trouble to understand active and passive voice, and reported speeches.

4. Continuous reading without interruption:

Another method is to make sure that you learn the language for a specific period of time and consistently. You don't learn by "catapulting" only once or twice in a month.

In order to succeed in learning easily and quickly, make sure you set aside time at least three times a week, and for at least two hours every day, and make sure you study like this for a long time, for example, for three months in a row at the same speed of learning.

Why do you need to learn continuously? It is because learning a language requires a lot of remembering and connecting the understanding of different aspects of the language.

Thus, continuous learning sends a message to your brain that what you are trying to store in your memory is important, so you allocate space to help you find it quickly when you need it - that is, fast memory.

Also remember that even if you study and it becomes difficult, if you continue to repeat the same thing over and over again after a while you find yourself having built some kind of memory and the ability to relate what you learned in the past with new information about the same thing in question.

5. Understand the use of tenses and their principles:

This method is about two very important things, first knowing the existence of tenses and their use, that is, in which situation do you use present tense, or past tense, or future tense, and then another very important thing is to

Did you know that now you can enter Sauzi without having a Visa? Yes, it is absolutely true that you can enter Sauzi without applying for a visa. All you need is to have your Tanzanian Passport, here I am talking about an international Passport like the one in the picture above.

Of course, you know that for East African countries you don't have to have that international passport, there are special passports for East Africa. But today let's talk about how to get that international passport.

Price:

According to the immigration website immigration.go.tz, you will need to pay Tshs. Fifty thousand. This payment is paid like this: TEN THOUSAND when taking the form, then when you return the form you pay FORTY THOUSAND.

Conditions :

You must have a birth certificate, and also have the birth certificate of one of your parents. If the parent does not have a certificate then he will need to obtain an oath in court to prove that he is a Tanzanian. The oath is called an Affidavit.

You also need to have FIVE photos of a specific passport size, the information on how to take these photos that you need will be found at the immigration office where you will go to apply for a passport. Advice for you, don't just take a picture of yourself and submit it to immigration, make sure you contact the immigration office and they will give you the right instructions about the pictures they want.

Application form:

You will have to go to the immigration office and pay for a special application form. You will fill out the form which, among other things, will have a special section for your guarantor to fill and sign. You will be required to sign in front of the immigration officer on the day of returning the relevant form.

Other requirements:

You will need to have a specific reason why you want to travel abroad. Special confirmation is required, such as a letter of invitation to visit a person who is abroad, or a letter of being called to work abroad, or a letter of acceptance to join a college abroad, confirmation of a return ticket from the country you want to visit for business, or confirmation another like a medical trip, or sports.

How long does it take to get a Passport?:

It depends, but usually not more than two weeks after you submit the complete form and fulfill all the conditions.

You may think I'm joking, but there are some pre-schools that have a similar procedure to give a test to children who are looking for a place in those schools.

It is possible that this is done with the aim of forcing parents to send their children to those schools before they join the first grade.

Some schools, for example, cannot accept a child who studied at another school.

The test of knowledge of reading, writing and arithmetic, in that sense, becomes a method of discriminating children who studied in other schools.

On the other hand, however, such steps can be a message for parents to take deliberate steps in helping their children learn to read, write and count before they are enrolled in the formal education system.

Doris Lyimo, language lecturer, Mwenge Catholic University (MWECAU) shares with us four methods we can use to create an environment for children to learn to read while still in the home environment.

"The home environment has a very important role in enabling a child to learn to read. If a parent understands these four steps well, he can completely do the work done by the teacher at school.

These steps are matching sounds, syllables and words but also a group of words and finally reading a sentence that makes sense," he explains.

Sound pairing

According to lecturer Doris Lyimo, the very first step for a child to learn to read is the ability to match sounds with symbols.

He explains, "Sound is a sound that represents a familiar symbol. For a parent who wants a child to read, he must make sure the child can recognize letters like a, e, i, o, u and consonants like b, c, d, f, g by pronouncing them.

Usually these sounds have no meaning for the child but they help the child to start recognizing the text."

To help the child learn to recognize sounds, Doris advises the parent to write the symbols on a piece of paper or a tablet and read them aloud to the child.

But also, the parent can show the child charts with letters and consonants and show the child an example of pronouncing them out loud and the child imitates.

Similarly, the parent can use cartoons or videos with content to build the child's ability to recognize vowels and consonants.

Recognizing syllables

The second step for a child to learn to read is to recognize syllables. These are the 'words' in the passage that are pronounced without hesitation.

Lecturer Doris explains: "The pattern of syllables is like la, le, li, lo, lu. When the child reaches this stage of recognizing syllables, he has mastered the sounds of individual letters and now he is able to connect them without any problems," he explained.

"Unfortunately, language does not make sense in small syllables. You must read a meaningful text to the child and then ask him to identify the syllables."

Recommended methods to help the child recognize syllables include reading aloud to him as was the case in the initial stage of learning the sounds that represent certain symbols.

In addition to the sound, the parent should give the child paper, charts, videos to build the ability to recognize syllables.

Recognize words

Doris Lyimo, notes that the third step in teaching him to read is to build his ability to recognize words. He says, "At this stage, the big task is to ensure that the child has the ability to understand the meaning of the words he is starting to learn. Words are what bring understanding. Here the child must begin to understand the relationship between the word and its meaning," he explains.

The methods you can use in this step are pictures. Make sure you have enough pictures that show the different things the child is familiar with and try to match them with specific words.

"At this stage, children learn easily when they match letters or consonants with the things around them in their environment.

For example, 'a' can be easily understood when it means 'father' and 'b' when it means 'father'.

When such words appear in the pictures that the child uses, it increases his ability to remember what he sees.

In addition, actions can also be used to teach the child those words depending on the type of vocabulary. For example, you can show a child the sign of crying when you teach him the word 'cry.'

Learning groups of words

According to Doris, in order for a child to start reading, he has a big job to make sure he can understand groups of words (phrases). He gives an example, "Words like father and mother, my brother, mother is present, do not have a complete meaning but they build the basis for the child to understand the sentence."

"The techniques you can use is to read aloud to the child to help him reconcile what he sees with his reality," says Doris and continues:

"In addition to helping the child to recognize words, the voice helps the child to know how to pronounce those words, the correct use of words, to understand where to place emphasis, where the voice should be high, when the voice should be low."

Along with reading to the child, you can also use the technique of showing the child the words and asking him to read them. By doing so, the child begins to associate the word with its meaning and thus his understanding grows.

Understanding sentences

The fourth step, according to Doris Lyimo, is to understand the sentence. A sentence is a collection of words

EASY WAYS TO STUDY AND PASS FINAL EXAMS

It's possible that you study a lot but when the results come out, you don't want your friends or even your parents to know what you got or you do well in class and regular exams but when it comes time to do the final exams like those of the district, region and nation you fail until you feel you are being tricked or bewitched!. Failure is not a good thing for a person to experience in anything especially when you are in school, realizing that it does not matter what status you are a student of a school or you are repeating an exam or you are a P.C you have to know these very simple ways to help you pass your exams.

From the Holy Hands table, we have provided you with good things that can help you pass your final exams as follows;

1. Read past exams. (past papers)

This method is very simple, it will help you to know how to answer the questions, to know the traps and methods of the examiners who often repeat the same questions in different ways, as well as it will help you to know the format or structure of the exams and this will lead you to know the answers to many questions in very short time. This method will help you a lot to pass the exams.

2. Know all the topics of each subject you study. (topics)

Knowing the topics of each subject you expect to answer the exam will help you a lot to know which topics have many questions, many marks, topics with easy and difficult questions. This gives you a very accurate guide to know where to start when you are preparing to answer the exam. It is very dangerous to enter the room of the exam when you don't know which questions to start with in the relevant exam even if you know many things to answer. So knowing the topic is a very easy way to pass your exam.

3. Read with purpose. (target)

Studying is not the temple of the farm, you have to spend a long time to finish cultivating it! reading is a job that involves the mind and the organs, so you should have a specific goal every time you study, not just studying for as long as possible. It's better to sleep and rest your mind than to study when you don't understand what you're studying, what's the benefit to you. That's why there are some students who spend a long time and fail while there are people who succeed despite not entering the classroom or studying for a long time. This is because most of the students who study for a long time study without knowing the purpose of studying certain things or topics and end up failing. So knowing what you are studying something for will give you a big guarantee of success, believe me.

4. Spend more time studying subjects you understand well. (investment)

Don't get it wrong! Spending a lot of time on the subjects you understand well does not mean that you stop studying other subjects, but this means that you need to understand more and more and turn all the subjects you understand as your home field so that in the exams of those subjects you are sure to get more than 65% to 75 %. This method is very simple and important because the success depends on the scores of different subjects and not just one subject. So knowing more about the subjects you understand will pay off in the exams and give you the certainty of success.

5. Read short notes containing basic ideas. (reduce head load)

Instead of reading a lot of information like a reader of a treatise, short notes that are well prepared will help you pass the exam easily. This method will help you not lose the desire to read when you use short notes, it helps to understand quickly and according to experts they claim that short notes help the student to keep good memories. So use short notes, a good example of short and good notes are those provided by the "thl tanzania" application on electronic devices, phones, tablets, etc., handouts, books and various brochures." Pay attention" (Make sure your short notes are compatible with what the curriculum requires you to study as well. This method may not work very well in some subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, so for these subjects short notes must be supported by regular practice although for some people it is not necessary).

6. Create response rules. (be creative)

Designing Rules is a kind of trick so that no one deceives you. First of all, understand that these are not official rules, but they are rules that a person designs in his own way with the aim of helping him to keep records and make it easier for him when he answers questions. It is possible that you have not understood well, but don't worry, is that primary school children are taught to quickly memorize measurements of height, that is;" Hats are sold in Daudi's Store Centimeters" meaning Kilometers, Hectometers, Dekameters, Meters, Decimeters, Centimeters and Millimeters. So if you settle for any subject, you can develop these rules that will make it much easier for you to answer questions and give you the certainty of success.

7. Make an assessment and know the time left before taking the exam. (arrangement of weapons)

This is a very simple method that can make you pass the test again with confidence. Evaluation is the right measure that will make you know where your deficiency is and what to do according to the time you will have left before taking the test. Note that this "assessment" should be done alone or with someone who has chickens
